Clinical Study: Depression and Common Symptoms

Depression is a common symptom associated with fibromyalgia and myofascial pain syndrome.  Generally, antidepressants don’t work very well; a fact which is becoming increasingly obvious.  The release of endorphins into the body has been shown to greatly improve depression.  As we perform the micromanipulation techniques on our patients, we find that not only does their pain improve, but their depression lifts, as well.  Our protocol causes a natural release of endorphins as the manipulation technique is applied.  This is a consistent finding.

At our clinics, Podiatry Centers of North Florida, in Jacksonville, we are presently engaged in an ongoing clinical study whereby we are recording the positive effects of our treatment.  The study consists of our micromanipulation protocol, combined with other medical techniques under the auspices of Howard J. Groshell, DPM, MD and Juan Martinez, AC.  In this study, patients’ improvement is documented over a ten-week period.  It has been shown that patients undergoing the treatment protocol have experienced a 67.95% improvement of depression.

The study also includes multiple symptoms found in fibromyalgia and general postural pain patients.  Fifty patients participated.  The patients were seen once a week for ten weeks.  The trigger points, described in the following charts,  #1 and #2, were all marked by the patients at the beginning of the study. The patients evaluated their subjective findings on a weekly basis. All trigger points are correlated with multiple foot locations as seen on chart #1.

A definite relationship was demonstrated between postural pain trigger points and abnormal foot biomechanics.  Consistently, faulty foot biomechanics are related to energy flow blockages and body symptoms.

The chart insert, marked #1, shows main bodily trigger point locations of pain found in fibromyalgia and postural pain in general.  This pain is correlated to multiple foot locations and joint compartments.  The chart insert, marked #2, shows bodily pain location and some body symptoms associated with fibromyalgia and postural pain in general.

All symptoms were evaluated throughout the ten-week study.  The findings are the mean average results of 50 patients tested.  Every patient showed overall improvement, generally.

Many more symptoms can be directly and indirectly related to energy field blockage due to poor foot biomechanics.  Many more medical studies need to be performed in order to demonstrate the magnitude of our research and treatment protocol.  Medicine now has a new direction of research to follow. To our knowledge, there is no other protocol or research preceding this which can compare to our findings and positive results from the use of our protocol.  No medication is usually necessary.

I welcome all comments.  The answers to most of your questions, including “This dude is only a Podiatrist, what can he possibly know about fibromyalgia ,” can be found in East Meets West From the Bottom Up.
